24″ Vs 27″ Monitor: Which One is Better for Gaming?

24 Vs 27 Monitor

A gaming monitor is a thing that most people don’t replace frequently. One of the main reasons is that such gaming displays are quite expensive and so changing them time to time is not possible for all the game nerds. So, it becomes the most difficult as well as an important task to choose the perfect sized monitor for your gaming needs. Today, I will compare the most two popular gaming monitor sizes; 24 Vs 27 monitor. Let’s go through this article and decide which one of these two is better for gaming.

24″ Vs 27″ Monitor

Well, mostly it depends on your viewing requirements as well as the screen resolution you use. If you use a 24-inch monitor, then the 1080P is the perfect resolution for it, and if you are using a 27-inch monitor, then the 1440P or 4K resolution is the right thing to choose.

24 vs 27

The 24-inch and 27-inch displays are currently the most popular gaming monitors all over the world. That is so because for playing the high-end games, the recommended screen sizes are from 24-inch to a 32-inch.

When it comes to gaming, the bigger is going to better always. So, if you have space and budget, then the 27-inch display is what I will recommend to you. Such display offers you to go beyond the FHD (Full HD) resolution for enjoying the best experience of game-playing. But, if you have less table space or just want a second USB portable screen for playing games simultaneously while working on the primary monitor, then the 24-inch display can be a good option for you.

Some things to know while choosing between the 24-inch and 27-inch monitors:

  1. Mostly, both the screen sizes use 1920 x 1080 (1080P) resolutions which you can change later from the display settings.
  2. Doesn’t matter which screen-size you choose, but one thing is sure that, the bigger you get, the more you have to pay.
  3. For playing the high-end games, you may need multiple controllers, so it is also a considerable thing that how many types of USB ports the monitor supports.
  4. If you want a display for a small to medium sized desktop or if you sit not far from the table or if you do not need too much high resolution on the screen, then the 24” monitor is a good option to choose.

So, which monitor should I choose for gaming, 24 or 27 inch?

For regular desktop spaces and fewer resolution needs, a 24-inch monitor is ideal. The 27-inch monitor is widely used for having high-end resolution games and for having more significant views on the screen. It depends on your space, budget, gaming requirements and all. So, go for the 24-inch monitor if you do not want to pay much and want a regular desktop display for playing games on it. But if you are a real nerd of gaming who wants a broad and enhanced experience of gaming at high-resolution.

Along with the screen size, there are the other factors that you need to consider while choosing the best gaming monitor. Those factors include the panel type, refresh rate, response time, synchronization technology like FreeSync or G-Sync, video & audio inputs, and of course the budget.

People also ask

In the past few weeks, we have received a few questions about monitors. We thought we would answer them here to help you out.

1) Should I get a 24 or 27-inch monitor?

This is a tricky question because it all depends on your requirements. Make sure you go through the guide above to make deciding easier.

2) Is a 24-inch monitor big enough?

24-inch monitors are very common because they are comfortable for most activities. From streaming to working and gaming, this is a good size. But, if you are an avid gamer or if your work requires high resolution, you should go with 27 inches.

3) Is 27 inches too big?

It’s not too big for multi-tasking and gaming. It can be big for regular surfing and work, though. Also, desk space is a consideration you should make.

4) How far should you sit from a 27 monitor?

It depends on the resolution of your monitor. If it is QHD, you should maintain a distance of around 3 to 3.6 feet. If it is 1080p, we recommend 3.4 to 3.6 feet.

5) Is a 27 monitor too big for office work?

It depends on your work. If you are a graphic designer or a developer, you will appreciate the size. For regular, busy work, it may be big though.

6) Is 1080p good enough for a 27 monitor?

It depends on how far you will sit from the monitor. If you sit around 3 feet, it will be fine.

I’m sorry but bigger is not always better for gaming…

The size of the screen depends a lot on the distance you are sitting from the screen.
because under no circumstances may your peripheral vision come inside the screen size. simply because your reaction time increases when objects are inside your peripheral vision. And reaction time in gaming has to be at it’s optimal at all times otherwise you risk not reacting in time to make a difference…

I was hoping you took that into account when reading this article you made because I am having doubts about if the peripheral vision is outside or inside a 27″ as I’ve always had 24″ for my PC I have no first-hand experience on 27″ and are trying to research my way to figure out if a 27″ would be acceptable or not.
